About Us

Alburgh with Denton pre-school was originally started in 1975 operating out of a local village hall. In 1998 after much fundraising and support from the National Lottery, we purchased our own building. Which we sited in the grounds of Alburgh with Denton Primary School. Whilst we have all the good fortunes of sharing the resources of the school, we are an independent nursery our children go on to attend a number of local schools.

Situated in a rural setting, we are fortunate to have a beautiful surroundings. Our children have all the benefits of open spaces, and woodland areas. Ensuring that valuable learning may take place both indoors and outside.

We are a registered as a charitable Incorporated organisation, a non profit making business. We aim to provide high quality affordable childcare for the community in which we serve. Fundraising plays an important part in raising funds and developing social links, between families, staff and children.

We are an inclusive setting, everyone is welcome and as a result staff have considerable expertise in supporting our families, and their children’s individual needs.

At present the setting employs 6 staff members, we have an established team, all staff have worked at the setting together for some time. This opportunity has enabled the setting to enjoy continuity, and the ability to embed reflective practice. We are supported by a Committee made up of parents, who actively support the management and fundraising, which is vital for the smooth running of our pre-school.

We very much value the relationship between staff and parents, it is our aim to work closely, to ensure that we have a good knowledge and understanding of our children’s needs.

Working in partnership with parents ensures that our children’s needs are met within the setting.
